Which devices are supported?

Any iPad running iPadOS 17 or later. Bright CAD is iPad-only by design — the layout, the gestures and the Apple Pencil behaviour are built around a large touch surface, so there is no iPhone version.

Where are my projects stored?

On your iPad, as ordinary documents you can see in the Files app under On My iPad → Bright CAD. You can rename them, move them into folders, copy them to iCloud Drive, or open one from Files and edit it in place. Projects use the .brightcad extension.

How do I get a model to my 3D printer?

Export it as STL and open that file in your slicer. Toolbar → Export → STL (3D Printing), give it a name, and choose where to save or which app to send it to.

Which file formats work?

Import: STEP (.step, .stp) — tap one in Files, or use Import from the toolbar.
Export: STL for slicers, STEP for other CAD software, OBJ for general 3D tools.

Can I rename a project?

Yes — tap the project name in the editor's title bar and choose Rename, or rename it in the gallery. Files opened from elsewhere in the Files app are renamed in place, where they actually live.

Something looks wrong after an operation

Undo and redo cover every modelling command, so step back and try a different order — for example, filleting before a boolean rather than after. If an operation reliably fails on a shape, please send it to us: a project file that reproduces the problem is the single most useful thing we can get.

Reporting a bug

Email support@brightcad.app and include, as far as you can:

What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Your iPad model and iPadOS version (Settings → General → About).
The app version (Settings inside the app).
The .brightcad project that shows the problem, and a screenshot if it is visual.

Requesting a feature

Very welcome — same address. Tell us what you were trying to make when you hit the wall; the use case shapes the design far more than a feature name does.
